- LET’S MAKE CALLS TO RURAL VOTERS
“Rural voters are a vital bloc, comprising approximately 20 percent of the overall electorate. Democratic politicians used to reliably count rural voters as part of their base, but the Republican Party has dominated rural America for several election cycles, shifting long-held trends and changing the course of U.S. politics.” We need to work to change that again. Blue Wave America, an organization empowering rural Democrats, is hosting a series of phonebanks to rural voters. Let’s join in making calls with this option or this option.
- TEXAS HAS PURGED MORE THAN 1 MILLION PEOPLE FROM THE VOTER ROLLS – HERE’S WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT
Texas routinely “cleans up” its voter lists, removing people who have moved or have died, but this “list maintenance” has sometimes led to tens of thousands of eligible voters incorrectly removed. If we’re in Texas, let’s consult this article to check to see that we’re still registered and to find out how to get help if we’re not. Anyone in any state can confirm their voter registration status here.

- THE GOP IS STARTING THE STEAL
Trump and the GOP are once again going to try to take power regardless of what the voters want. They are already laying the groundwork in ways big and small. In Georgia, MAGA election conspiracists on the State Election Board narrowly passed a rule Friday requiring counties to hand-count the total number of ballots this year, potentially delaying the results for weeks – even after the state’s Republican secretary of state criticized the move as inducing chaos and the Republican attorney general suggested it was illegal. This follows an August rule change that puts up roadblocks to county-level certification of results. In Nebraska, Trump and his allies are pushing for a last-minute change from the current system in which electoral votes are allocated to the winners of the state and each congressional district to winner-take-all, which would deny VP Harris a chance at winning an elector in the Nebraska Second District. There is a lot of work ahead to stop the steal, but one immediate thing we can do is push for enough Democratic voter turnout to make their complaints laughable. - OVERSEAS VOTERS: LOOK FOR YOUR BALLOT
By federal law, ballots to military and overseas voters must be sent at least 45 days before an election. That means that overseas ballots were sent September 21 this year, so let’s tell our voter friends abroad to look for their ballot, fill it out completely, and return it right away. For each state’s rules about returning overseas ballots, go to the Democrats Abroad site, and use the “Your State Rules” link. - KEEP PUSHING THE TRUTH ABOUT PROJECT 2025
While Trump continues to claim he has nothing to do with Project 2025, despite how many people involved in drafting the plan have ties to his campaign, further concern has emerged. In a recent speech to the Heritage Foundation, who drafted the plan, he asserted that they were the people who would lay the groundwork for his term, should he win the presidency. We need to keep pushing the message on how dangerous this will be for normal everyday Americans. Let’s share this easy to read flyer, which breaks down the impacts of Project 2025 on various groups: including women, seniors, LGBTQ, BiPOC, and anyone who isn’t an evangelical Christian, etc. as widely as we can among our networks. The Facebook group, Citizens Against Project 2025, has additional short videos and written materials that we can use to get the word out.
