Who’s Who in Trump’s Racist Anti-Haitian Hate Mongering? Find Out with This Map.

Trump uses racist anti-immigrant tropes in scheme to score political points

Trump’s false claim about Haitian immigrants eating pets invokes racist trope

“The claims are the latest instances of Trump using dehumanizing language when talking about people who immigrate to the United States… Trump repeating the rumor about Springfield residents’ pets fits into the former president’s record of portraying immigrants broadly as threats. His attempts to vilify immigrants and people of color, including his campaign’s use of racist tropes, align with tactics that populist and authoritarian leaders have used throughout history” — WaPo

Republicans use racist tropes to score political points

Trump repeating the rumor about Springfield residents’ pets — which Republican Party leaders picked up from a Facebook post and Vance elevated Monday — fits into the former president’s record of portraying immigrants broadly as threats. His attempts to vilify immigrants and people of color, including his campaign’s use of racist tropes, align with tactics that populist and authoritarian leaders have used throughout history.” — WaPo

Ginni and Clarence Thomas again…

Ginni Thomas has ties to many of the organizers of the January 6 protests. She had posted in favor of the protests. She has long-standing ties that go back to 2013, when she was in a kind of political group with Ali Alexander, who was one of the organizers of that event. She was on the board — the advisory board of Turning Point Action, which is another group whose founder, Charlie Kirk, had a big role in organizing the January 6 protests. — NPR

Conspiracy theorist blamed for Trump’s eating pets remark

Laura Loomer, 31, a right-wing theorist and social media influencer, flew with the Republican nominee in his private jet to Tuesday night’s debate in which he repeated a baseless claim about Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Ohio. — Metro

Laura Loomer

The Guardian, which reported today hat she called herself a “white advocate” at a conference of the American Renaissance movement in 2022. The American Renaissance conference, according to the Southern Poverty Law Center, “is a venue where ‘racist intellectuals’ rub shoulders with Klansmen, neo-Nazis and other white supremacists,” and, it seems, Ms. Loomer… She told the assembled white nationalists and evangelical racists, “I was one of the first candidates to campaign in favor of mass deportations in an immigration moratorium.” — Lucian Truscott

Politics of getting votes by race baiting

“Trump referred to African nations as “shithole countries,” adding that the U.S. should want immigrants from countries such as Norway rather than from Haiti or El Salvador…” —  NPR
“Call me a non-white nationalist, if you want says Republican Vivek Ramaswamy.” —  Politico
“Ramaswamy says he’ll deport children of undocumented immigrants born in the U.S. Those children, however, are American citizens under the 14th Amendment.” —  NBC

TakeAway: America deserves better than racist immigrant bashing. Vote for Kamala Harris, Tim Walz and Democrats.
