ENCOURAGE YOUTH VOTE THROUGH GRANDPARENT CONNECTIONS
The Grand Connection is seeking people to encourage the youth in their lives (grandchildren, grandnieces & nephews, etc.) to attend an inspiring on-line Zoom session with 20-year-old Sam Schwartz, (whose cousin/friend was killed in the Parkland high school shooting) who has just completed a tour across the U.S. to inspire youth to flip red districts to blue through their voting power. Let’s learn about the effort in this 90-second video and then read their open letter that explains the project. Then, let’s invite the special younger people in our lives to RSVP with us to attend a short 30-minute Zoom call at 7:00 PM ET on Thursday, September 5.
WHAT’S ALL THIS ABOUT A VOTING PLAN?We may be hearing a lot about making a plan to vote. But what does that mean? And how do we do it? Let’s use these resources to understand what a voting plan is and how to make one—so that we’re sure to make our voices heard in the 2024 election:

REGISTER MORE DEMOCRATIC VOTERS IN ALMOST-TIED NORTH CAROLINA WITH FIELD TEAM 6
The latest North Carolina polls show a close race: Harris is now only slightly behind with 49% of the vote and Trump has 50%. It’s a small margin and one that we can change, if we can get more Democratic voters registered and ready to vote, Field Team 6 has several ways we can help do just this, including a virtual phone bank on Mondays, from 6-7:30 pm EDT, starting Sept 9 through Oct 28. If we choose to join in, we can choose the dates that work for us to call likely Democratic voters and help them get registered. If they are already registered, we can help them sign up to vote by mail. We can find out more and sign up here.

MAKE HATS AND MARCH
We’re gathering again for a Women’s March—this time before the election—on Saturday, November 2. The main march is in Washington, DC. Let’s watch for updates, including cities with sister marches, on the Women’s March website and Facebook page. We can get ready by knitting or crocheting patriotic hats for Harris!
