Ways we can help get out the vote
Aug 26

- GEORGIA: PICK AN ACTION TO HELP ELECT HARRIS AND WALZWe’re all newly energized about the Nov. 5 election! We can choose a one-time or ongoing civic volunteer opportunity from the ACLU Georgia/ SPLC Georgia, Asian-American Advocacy Fund, Democratic Party of Georgia, Georgia Postcard Project, Georgia Working Families Party, Harris/Walz campaign, Indivisible Georgia Coalition, New Georgia Project, Progressive Turnout Project (paid), or VoteRiders. All info has been approved by these organizations, and this master post will be continually updated. We can check out this public post link and help turn Georgia Blue!
- HELP TURN OUT THE BIPOC VOTEReclaim Our Vote, a campaign of the non-partisan, Black and women-led voting rights organization Center for Common Ground, seeks to increase turnout among voters who are Black, Indigenous, and People of Color in voter suppression states where more than 20% of voters are people of color: AL, AZ, FL, GA, VA, NC, SC, and TX. They offer training sessions and guided phone banks every week, or, once trained, we can make calls at our own convenience. Let’s sign up to phone-bank with Reclaim Our Vote!
- AMPLIFY PRO-DEMOCRACY INFORMATIONThose of us who spend time on social media and want to help can consider joining DemCast. DemCast is the largest and most impactful organic digital amplification network in the world. DemCast equips and deploys tens of thousands of social media users per month to relay pro-democracy messages across several social media platforms – all while battling rampant disinformation. Since inception in 2019, the network has earned over 200 billion impressions on movement content.” Let’s find out more about DemCast and join their Digital Field Team here.
- GET READY TO TRACK YOUR BALLOT Many states have online ballot trackers that let us log in and see if our ballot was received, reviewed, and counted. For mailed ballots, it might show the date it was posted. Let’s get ready for November by bookmarking the Vote.org site with links to ballot trackers by state. In case of problems with a ballot, links in the right column lead to contact information for local election offices. Voters in states with an upcoming in-state primary or runoff have a chance to try out the ballot tracker before November!
