Dear Members and Supporters,

As we continue our journey through 2024, a pivotal election year, we’re excited to share some key dates and events that underline our commitment to civic engagement and community involvement. Here’s what’s on the horizon for the Oakland County Democratic Party:

UPCOMING EVENTS

Executive Committee Meeting – Special Location
Tuesday, August 13, 2024
Hosted by the Southeast Oakland Democratic Club in Madison Heights as part of our ‘OCDP on the Road’ effort. Our meeting will be featuring a panel of local political analysts!Location: Plumbers Local 98 Union Hall, 555 Horace Brown Dr., Madison Heights, MI 48071
Time: 7-9 PM

MDP Convention in Lansing

Saturday, August 24, 2024
Join us as we confirm our nominees for several state-level positions at the Michigan Democratic Party’s convention.

Eligibility: Must be a member on or before July 25, 2024.

Join the DEI Committee at the Japanese Bon Festival

Date: Sunday, August 11, 2024

Time: 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM

Location: Cranbrook Japanese Garden, 550 Lone Pine Road, Bloomfield Hills, MI 48304

Activities Include:

Traditional Japanese taiko drumming and music

Bon Odori dances and dance demonstrations

Displays of Ikebana and bonsai

Food and beverages available for purchase from Kabar Catering Sushi Truck

Additional Info: Tours of the Cranbrook Japanese Garden will be ongoing during the festival. This event is free to attend, but registration is required.

Join us for our marquee annual gathering at the Somerset Inn. Details on the keynote speaker and program to follow.
