WE HAVE OUR VP!
Vice-President Kamala Harris has chosen her partner for the ballot and the White House: Governor Tim Walz of Minnesota. Walz is a National Guard veteran who was the highest-ranking enlisted soldier to ever serve in Congress, a social studies teacher, and a high school football coach who has energized the Democratic base with his straight talk, devastating attacks on Trump and his personal history that includes serving as a faculty adviser for the first gay-straight alliance at his school back in 1999 and conceiving a daughter using IVF. He earned national praise for signing a universal free school lunch bill, ensured Minnesota students had access to free menstrual products. defended Dreamers in the House and drivers licenses for all from the Governor’s office and delivered for reproductive rights, LGBT rights, workers, and climate action. So now the ticket is set and we can kick the work into high gear! The Democratic Party has set up virtual phone banks we can do from home whenever we’re available, every day. In honor of our next president and vice-president, let’s sign up for a shift here.

WOMEN WEDNESDAYS FOR HARRIS STARTS TONIGHT
Last week, Shannon Watts facilitated the White Women for Harris Zoom session that was so successful with over 160,000 participants. As a follow-up, she is now collaborating with Indivisible and hosting Women Wednesdays for Harris starting tonight at 8:30 – 9:30 PM ET. Let’s sign up here.

THEY SUPPRESS VOTES, WE PROTECT THEM
With Democrats building momentum up and down the ballot, Republican efforts to suppress the vote are intensifying. The latest example comes from Georgia, which has followed up its expansion of voter registration challenges with a new registration cancelation portal that is ripe for abuse. We won’t take this lying down, and we have multiple opportunities this week to reverse the purges. Field Team Six is doing phonebanks on Wednesday afternoons to register likely Democratic voters in Georgia, which we can sign up for here. Swing Left Western Massachusetts is calling purged Ohio Democrats to re-register them on Thursday at 5PM, which we can register to do here. Powered By People is conducting personal outreach and send out pre-stamped forms to help voters register by mail in Texas, which we can volunteer to help here if we’re in the state or donate to support here if we’re not.

GET OUT THE ASIAN AND PACIFIC ISLANDER AMERICAN VOTE
Asian and Pacific Islander American Vote (APIAVote) is the nation’s leading nonpartisan nonprofit dedicated to engaging, educating, and empowering Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities to strengthen and sustain a culture of civic engagement.
