After Ohio voters passed Issue 1 last year to protect abortion rights in our state constitution, Ohio’s Republican leadership has still not removed certain abortion restrictions, including a ban that prevents clinicians from providing abortion medication – including mifepristone, one of the most commonly used abortion drugs – via telehealth.
GOP leadership is arguing that these issues should be determined by the courts.
Well, Erica, it’s a good thing we have the opportunity to flip the Ohio Supreme Court this year and elect justices who will fight for our constitutional right to abortion care.
These three critical Supreme Court races on the ballot this year could decide the future of reproductive rights in Ohio.
Whether that be stopping Ohio’s Republican leadership from banning abortion telehealth or keeping Attorney General Dave Yost from overruling the will of Ohio voters and enforcing an abortion ban; electing Melody Stewart, Michael Donnelly, and Lisa Forbes this November means we can keep politicians out of our personal medical decisions.
