Breaking news, Erica: Jim Jordan, right-wing ally to former President Trump, is making a play for House speaker (again).
But with House control likely coming down to Ohio this year, we can very well deny Jim Jordan his speaker position and take back the majority.
Let’s look at Jim’s anti-democratic record together:
- This entire Congress, he’s spent the majority of his time spearheading the effort to impeach President Biden over absolutely baseless claims
- Speaking of baseless claims… he denied the results of the 2020 election
- He continues to try and strip away LGBTQ+ rights
- And he’s one of the GOP’s most avid anti-abortion advocates
Jim Jordan is wrong for Ohio and he’s wrong for House speaker. We can’t let him gain access to one of Congress’ most authoritative and powerful positions.
Make no mistake: Abortion is on the ballot again this year.
– Vox, 4/24/24
It’s simple, Erica: Abortion is on the ballot again in 2024.
Ohio voters enshrined abortion rights in our constitution by turning out last November, but Republican politicians are still pushing for a national abortion ban.
Not only is the Supreme Court deciding whether it should strike down a federal law that requires U.S. hospitals to provide abortions to patients experiencing medical emergencies, but Bernie Moreno – running against Sherrod Brown here in Ohio in one of the most expensive and competitive Senate races in the entire country – is adamant on passing a national abortion ban.
Our only option is to elect Democrats to Congress that will steadfastly protect reproductive healthcare in Ohio and across the country.
