PEG 6th Congressional District Newsletter 366
Note from the editors: We at Protectors of Equality in Government (PEG) want to tell you about meaningful ways to stay informed and active. We also want to keep things brief and engaging! Therefore, you’ll now see a traditional, in-depth newsletter during the first week of the month, followed by shorter “Ideas for Action” editions the rest of the month. Let us know what you think!

Federal Dollars are at Work in Michigan
Significant federal investments have been made in the past three years to rebuild America’s infrastructure and strengthen local communities. Michigan alone has received billions in funding, allowing the state to undertake critical infrastructure upgrades and improvement projects. Use the Michigan at Work website to see how this has directly affected your district, your neighborhood, and yourself. Click on your district to see the progress unfold in real time as projects get underway to enhance our roads, bridges, public utilities, and community facilities. You can search by your Congressperson’s name if you do not know your district number.

The Best Reason to Send Letters and Postcards We Have Seen
Distill Social went to the expense of digitizing the names and addresses of the signers of the successful Michigan Reproductive Freedom For All ballot initiative. They need volunteers to send letters and postcards to those signers who don’t always vote or sometimes mistakenly vote for candidates who don’t support abortion rights.

VOTE May 7: Special Election in Ypsilanti
A special vote will be held to consider the recall of Ward 3 Ypsilanti City Council Member Desirae Simmons. No specific grounds are required for recall in Michigan. To get a recall on the ballot in Michigan, recall supporters must collect signatures equal in number to 25% of voters in the jurisdiction that voted in the most recent gubernatorial race. That number was 603 and recall supporters gathered 606 signatures.
