Thursday is Blue Thursday: Join us at the Hideout

Mayors Brandon Johnson and Lori Lightfoot: Discuss

How’s Brandon Johnson doing a year into his term as Chicago mayor? Any better than Lori Lightfoot did? We’ll discuss with a couple of old friends and veteran mayor watchers: Gregory Royal Pratt, the Tribune‘s City Hall reporter and author of a new book about Lightfoot, The City Is Up for Grabs; and Brandon Pope, the host of On the Block, Block Club Chicago’s TV show on WCIU channel 26. Guarantee: they will have opinions!

Blue Thursday, we hope you know, is a monthly political happy hour where we mingle, imbibe, gossip, and hear the latest from pols, press, and pundits. It happens at the Hideout, the city’s most excellent saloon. Bar opens at 5:30, program starts at 6. It’s free and open to all, but please RSVP here. And bring several friends!

If you can’t be there in person, catch the livestream at facebook.com/IndivisibleChi or find the podcast at on.soundcloud.com/NukJf.

November is coming. Are you ready?

Remember how we mobilized in 2020 to rid ourselves of history’s worst president? It was a glorious occasion, an effort to be proud of, but unfortunately it seems we have to do it again. No, scratch that, we have to do it more, bigger, and better, to send the Very Stable Genius and all his Republican toadies to the political oblivion they have earned.

If you were on the team in 2020, good show! You have the thanks of a grateful nation. But we need you to come back with even more energy. If you weren’t with us then, here’s your chance to make a difference that will endure for generations. Right now our friends at Indivisible Chicago are planning the canvasses, phone banks, texting teams, and postcard events that will spell victory in November. Sign up here to receive Daily Actions and news of upcoming volunteer activities. If you’re already a member of Indivisible Chicago, go here to tell us what kind of actions and races you’re interested in. And check out our calendar of upcoming campaign events. We can win this, we will win it, but only if we do the work.
