IndivisibleYOLO.org Gets a Makeover

While some were busy watching the Super Bowl, we were launching the new IY website. It may look similar in many ways, however, it’s been reorganized to focus on our 2024 electoral objectives to make it easier for folks to get involved – and take action.
Anyone can sign up to receive our newsletter or update their commitment to Do More ‘24 by completing the Volunteer Sign-up form. After you submit the form one of our Community Engagement volunteers will reach out to help you learn where you can best engage in order to make the best use of your time and talents.
The new site continues to have all the information as the old site including the Calendar and links to connect with our US and California electeds. What’s new is the highlighted “Actions of the Week” section featuring timely volunteer opportunities and the use of Link Trees to enable volunteers to engage directly from the website with the latest information from our various action teams – Call Team, Text Team, Voter Reg and Canvassing. The plan is to make all the latest actions available without the need to make time-consuming revisions directly on the website every time changes occur.
As always, what’s important is how helpful it is for you, our volunteers. So, please let us know how you like it and send any suggestions for improvements to indivisibleyolo@gmail.com.
IndivisibleYOLO Electoral Team in Action

Indivisible Yolo Electoral teams have been busy in CA-13, our adopted Congressional district, conducting phone banks every Thursday from 5-7 PM as well as training folks to make calls on their own any time that have a gap in their schedule (daily 11:30-8PM). Come for the camaraderie, then make calls at your convenience. It’s easy and leaving voicemails helps raise awareness for Adam Gray (D) at this important GOTV time! https://www.mobilize.us/indivisibleyolo/event/599588/
The Voter Reg team wrapped the last of multiple pre-primary voter registration days on college campuses this past week with a trip to Modest February 14. Overall, we’ve been conducting voter registration trips dating back to October in collaboration with the Bay Area Coalition(BAC). The number of newly registered Democrats is several multiples of the mere 564 votes that was the difference in 2022.
The direct voter contact action has now pivoted to getting voters to the polls (or drop boxes) with IY team members supporting 32 BAC volunteers from all over Northern CA on February 10th as they converged on Modesto to canvass for (and with) Adam Gray to take back CA-13!
Together, we’re more powerful and the numbers prove it, with 741 doors knocked and 137 conversations with voters, resulting in 104 pledges to vote for Adam Gray, 4 new volunteers and 2 newly registered voters!
Next up is this weekend: Saturday in Merced and Sunday in Lathrop. We’ll be at it every 2ND SATURDAY and 4TH SUNDAY now until November. Locations in CA-13 may vary but mark the dates on your calendar now!

Ballots Received? Time to Vote!

Yolo County voters should all have received their ballots for the March 5th primary by now! So now it’s time to vote…
While Indivisible Yolo has not made any official endorsements in this election, check out the Blue Voter Guide to see endorsements for California Prop 1, President, Senator and House races, CA Senate and Assembly races as well as the recall in Woodland, parcel taxes in Davis and then VOTE! Early voting is good for turnout and gives us time to share what we did with family, neighbors and friends.
A complete list of indoor and outdoor drop boxes can be found online at the Yolo Elections Office website.
Mailed-in ballots must be postmarked by March 5 and received by March 12 to be counted.

Contact your Senator: Reject Trump-Era Immigration Policies
For months, Senators have been negotiating over what’s called the “supplemental” funding package – additional money the Biden administration requested from Congress to respond to crises around the world. Republicans are playing brazen, dangerous hardball in order to force Trump-era immigration policies in exchange for support for Ukraine, and Democrats are considering caving to their demands.
Their deal is now public, and the policies on the table are nothing short of breath-taking: an end to asylum for everyone except the small number of folks who can afford to buy a flight into the U.S., a dramatic increase in the incarceration of asylum-seekers, including families, and a restart to Trump’s signature Title 42.
These policies would be dangerous and harmful enough on their own. But we’re heading into a tough election year with Trump and Trump-acolytes threatening to take back power, we cannot hand them even more tools to inflict their cruel agenda on vulnerable people.
Call your Senator now and tell them to say no to MAGA immigration policies.
