We’ve been out of day-to-day communication as we finish up work on some huge projects:
- The analysis of the Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025 (project2025.org) (online- but still plowing through this monster.
- The Indivisible Ventura Voting Guide for the 2024 Primary Election is now online!
There have been a lot of important news events since we last put out a newsletter: Tom Suozzi (D) won George Santos’ seat in NY, Tucker Carlson got dissed by Putin AND smacked for his “radicalization” in a Russian grocery, Trump got hit with $450 million dollar fine for fraud, and is giving up on appealing his civil immunity case to SCOTUS. But there is more joy here –climate scientist Michael E. Mann, who has been subjected to stalking, online threats and physical confrontations, just won a $1 million dollar defamation judgement against two right-wing global warming critics.
Meanwhile, Trump has been talking about a national abortion ban, and is now selling $399 gold sneakers conspicuously bare of “country of origin” tags. (Check out this video!) Will a garage sale at Mar-a-Lago be next?
Just added: A tale of two presidents – Trump’s comments on the death of the crazy-brave Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny and Biden’s.
Action
Vote for power. Make sure your friends and family do too.
Evangelicals voted for Trump over their fellow evangelical Jeb Bush because they felt Trump was the “tough guy” necessary to create their Christian Nationalist fantasy. So far, their vote for power has been rewarded with a right-wing court and the end of Roe v. Wade.
But there’s so much more that they want to dismantle and they will get the chance with every Republican who takes office. If Trump wins, Project 2025 is waiting in the wings to give him nearly unlimited power.
So, if we don’t want to live in their book-banning, misogynistic, homophobic, transphobic, anti-science, climate change-denying, xenophobic, White Supremacist, and Christian Nationalist world, we need to learn to vote for power too.
No Republicans. For any office. No quixotic third-party candidates. No tossing your ballot in the trash. Vote!

Today in “Did that just happen?”: A candidate for public office told a story about cats…
Last month, many public speakers came up to the podium to comment after County Clerk-Recorder & Registrar Michelle Ascension finished the third part of her election education series on the Voter’s Choice Act, which gives registered voters universal access to voting centers and numerous secure ballot boxes to make voting easy.
One of the speakers, well-known Ventura County resident Bruce Boyer, proceeded to tell the board a story that sounded very much like voter fraud was involved. We’re not experts, so we want actual experts to address our concerns. You may too. We’ve given instructions on whom to contact.

Join in! – We’re translating “Project 2025” – the GOP’s master plan to destroy democracy.
Project 2025 is a publicly available set of online documents from the Heritage Foundation, a hard-right think tank. It outlines the GOP plans to install a Christian Nationalist authoritarian government just as soon as the next GOP president is elected, whether it be Trump or someone else.
The GOP plans on cementing power by decimating the civil service in federal government agencies, and elevating a particular form of Christianity over civil rights. This will allow Trump or any GOP president to efficiently do the bidding of their corporate masters. This is not overwrought hyperbole. Ronald Reagan accomplished 60% of the foundation’s directives. In his first administration, Trump accomplished approximately two-thirds. Think what damage he could do if there is no one left in any civil service post to hold him back.
Voters who believe GOP fear campaigns against immigrants and transgender kids will unwittingly be voting against unions, worker rights, women, Medicare, voting rights, good health insurance, clean energy and climate change action, access to safety net programs, public schools, Head Start and more. Even though their plans are “public,” the true nature of the changes they intend to make are unknown to most people.

Once the FAA approves the ALP before the Noise study is complete the airport work can begin to bring in more jet and turbo traffic. Get the Noise Study completed first then submit the ALP.
