Tragedy in Kansas City This Week

This week, during what was supposed to be an exciting sunny Spring day, our community experienced a horrific tragedy. On Wednesday, Feb. 14th during the Kansas City Chiefs’ Superbowl victory celebration downtown, senseless gun violence erupted and sent 11 children to the emergency room to treat gunshot wounds and related injuries, and killed a young mother. 11 children who will, thankfully, recover from their injuries but will be shaped by that day for the rest of their lives. Two children left without their mother.

For this, we ask you to call your State Representative & State Senator this week and tell them to stop using Missouri lives as chips to score political points and find solutions to the very real issues impacting Missourians.

The Republicans in the House and Senate have decided the political theater of extremism is more important than doing their jobs and addressing this senseless gun violence, public school funding, and our aging infrastructure.

Call your State Representative & State Senator and tell them to get to work to find common sense gun-safety solutions to protect our communities.
