How much money did it cost taxpayers to send the governor’s security detail to the Super Bowl?

Friends,

In honor of the Super Bowl tomorrow, we want to have a quick chat about Mike DeWine and our Supreme Court (we know that sounds strange but bear with us, we promise they’re all connected).

In 2022, DeWine took a trip to Super Bowl LVI. But to absolutely no one’s surprise, when a public records request for the cost of the taxpayer-funded state troopers’ flights, hotels, meals, and vehicles was made, Ohio Supreme Court Justice Joe Deters (who happens to be DeWine’s family friend – convenient, we know) and his fellow Republicans on the Court ruled that those records could be withheld.

Deters put politics over public accountability and helped the governor hide how many of our hard-earned taxpayer dollars he spent to attend the Super Bowl. Rush $5 to tell Deters and the Republican-controlled Supreme Court that we won’t allow them to put politics over public accountability >>>

This is another classic case of the GOP taking care of its own and making Ohio taxpayers foot the bill.

Now here’s the good news. This year, DeWine has no reason to go to the Super Bowl, so your taxpayer dollars are safe (for now).

The even better news? We’re the only state in the entire country that can flip its Supreme Court and end these ridiculous rulings by corrupt Republicans like Deters.

But we need your help to get it done. Can you chip in today to our judicial fund to help us flip the Ohio Supreme Court and secure a Democratic majority?

Thank you,

– Ohio Dems
