  • INTRODUCTION TO THE ENVIRONMENTAL VOTER PROJECTIf we want elected officials to enact pro-environment laws and policies, then we must build unignorable, committed communities of pro-environment voters across the country to hold them accountable. That’s the point of the Environmental Voter Project (EVP). On Thursday, Feb 8, 12PM ET / 9AM PT, EVP is offering “Introduction to the Environmental Voter Project,” a webinar that will cover how and why the organization identifies low-propensity environmental voters and mobilizes them to vote, EVP’s achievements to date, and upcoming opportunities for us to help. Let’s register and attend!
  • LEARN TO  PHONE BANK SUCCESSFULLY WITH FIELD TEAM 6A recent New York Times analysis of recent elections suggests that a stronger turnout helps Democrats win, and this election year we really need to get as many Democrats as possible registered and ready to vote! One of the most effective ways to register more Democrats is through phone banking, and Field Team 6 is ready to take all of the fear out of the process and even make it fun! Master Phone Banker Lynn Bommer will show us how to get started and share her best advice with us. We have two opportunities to learn from her, either on Saturday Feb 17 2-3pm PST or Saturday March 16 3-4 pm PST. We can find out more and then sign up here for  Field Team 6’s Phone Bank Training. Let’s register more Dems and win big this year!

  • HELP MAKE IT A BLUE TRIFECTA IN 2024Grassroots Democrats HQ has a mission: to re-elect President Biden, take back the House, and expand the Senate majority in 2024. Achieving that mission depends on us—on our volunteer work and donations. Let’s look at the list of events and sign up to phonebank, canvass, postcard, and more.

  • REVISE THE 13th AMENDMENT: SPEAK OUT AGAINST FORCED PRISON LABORAs once again profiled in a recent news story, slavery is alive and well in U.S. prisons, thanks to a clause in the 13th Amendment to the Constitution that allows enforced servitude as a form of criminal punishment. Prisoners often face parole denials and other punishments if they refuse to comply. Enforced servitude is also incorporated into many state constitutions, though some states have made moves to strike these provisions. Let’s tell our MoCs to initiate, support, and pass legislation that will revise the 13th Amendment to outlaw this type of slavery, and let’s also find out if enslavement clauses exist in our state constitutions and what’s being done to change that. We can also educate ourselves further on this issue by watching the excellent film, 13, which is currently free on YouTube.
