From the Chair’s Desk

Florida Democrats,

Happy Black History Month! Black History Month is a celebration of Black stories and strength, but it is also a call-to-action.

This month, we recommit to standing shoulder to shoulder with the Black community to continue the fight for racial and economic justice.

Throughout February, I will be traveling with our team to different parts of state to highlight the rich and vibrant history and contributions of Black Floridians.

On Tuesday we will host another Phone bank to inactive voters featuring special guest Rep. Johanna Lopez! Please sign up here.

Lastly, on Wednesday the Florida State Supreme Court will hear Oral Arguments to determine whether or not the reproductive rights referendum will make it onto the November ballot.

You can follow Floridians Protecting Freedom for more information, and you can sign up for their virtual oral arguments watch party here.

Florida Democrats believe in effective and efficient government that prioritizes quality education, affordable health care, and an economy in which anyone who works hard can succeed.

Most importantly, we believe that we are stronger together. We believe the fundamental American promise — that you can go as far as your own hard work will take you — should shine brightest in Florida.

That is why we champion the middle class and cherish the principle that all Floridians should have the opportunity to work hard and succeed. That is why we will never stop fighting for better public schools, because education is the surest path to a better life for millions.

From standing for affordable health care and better schools to fighting for civil rights and access to the ballot box, Florida Democrats are leading every day to move our state forward.
