From the Chair’s Desk

Florida Democrats,

What a January it has already been.

With Ron backing down and dropping out of the race for president, losing Iowa, and Tom Keen flipping HD-35 – that makes it three losses for Ron DeSantis in the last week!

Now, your Florida Democrats are laser focused on the task ahead: continuing to register voters, recruiting and training candidates, and winning more elections so we can take back Florida.

This week, President Joe Biden will be visiting South Florida to raise money for his campaign. This visit is also a recommitment by the President and his team to be visible in Florida because they know that our state is worth fighting for.

Please also see below for information about this week’s Inactives Phone Bank with Senator Shevrin Jones. We’re going to be calling voters who have been marked as inactive even though they have voted as recently as 2020. This is very important work to help close the voter registration gap.

Florida Democrats believe in effective and efficient government that prioritizes quality education, affordable health care, and an economy in which anyone who works hard can succeed.

Most importantly, we believe that we are stronger together. We believe the fundamental American promise — that you can go as far as your own hard work will take you — should shine brightest in Florida.

That is why we champion the middle class and cherish the principle that all Floridians should have the opportunity to work hard and succeed. That is why we will never stop fighting for better public schools, because education is the surest path to a better life for millions.

From standing for affordable health care and better schools to fighting for civil rights and access to the ballot box, Florida Democrats are leading every day to move our state forward.
