Stand up for American democracy: No dictators
The GOP plans to install a Day One Dictator and dismantle our democracy. Help launch a year-long campaign of action against Project 2025. Stop The Coup 2025, the Center for Popular Democracy, Rise and Resist and other activist groups in a mass visibility action on January 27th to protest Project 2025 and the role of The Heritage Foundation, one of the key right-wing funders of the plan. What is Project 2025?
…a detailed 887-page Conservative scheme for autocracy by imposing the tyranny of a handful of billionaires over the voice of the majority of America. It would give a GOP president unprecedented “supreme” powers to advance an extremist anti-gender, anti-diversity, anti-democratic agenda – reversing many climate protections, too.
The Problem: The radical right has released an extremist electoral playbook for a soft coup, an 887-page document called Project 2025, backed by now-75 conservative groups and Koch family money. It openly calls for the dismantling of the federal government and giving special ‘supreme’ powers to a President – a step toward autocracy, and Christian theocracy. Radical anti-democracy, anti-diversity, anti-gender agenda
Project 2025 has a radical anti-democracy, anti-diversity, anti-gender agenda to:
– Systematically dismantle the federal government – a soft coup
– Give the next Republic new “supreme powers” – an autocracy
– Use Executive Orders to “legally” reverse many of our civil rights
– Use the military to help clamp down on domestic dissent
– Criminalize & erase gender & LGBTQ+ identity from government protection
– Reverse racial equality, attack diversity, and reverse environmental gains
– Replace secular education with Christian theocracy and a pro-life agenda
– Recruit and train 20,000 conservatives for government jobs
– Use “Schedule F” to remove 50,000 civil servants
– Require government “Loyalty Pledges” to an extremist right-wing agenda
– Reverse historic US defense policy of deterrence to offense
– Require US foreign policy, USAID to align with pro-life agenda
– Launch the Republican 180-day administrative takeover on Jan. 20, 2025
What you can do?
This is a historic, unprecedented moment for America. We have never had a proposed dictatorship until now. Project 2025 is not a fringe idea – it has become the GOP platform, and it’s a plan to remake the US government into an autocracy. We have never seen this before in American history. We must act to stop them. Luckily, conservatives have made a tactical mistake. By telling everyone what they plan, they have also given us the strategy to challenge them.
Americans do not want to lose our democracy, so if people understand what Project 2025 really is, they will reject it. That means we need to amplify the message. If we tell everyone what the GOP is planning, the truth could sink the right wing. Let’s use their own words as a weapon. The GOP plan is an equal opportunity threat.
