Once again we have to make a choice in 2024. Donald Trump should not even be considered for president ever again.
- Trump is clearly in cognitive decline.
- Trump used the presidency to enrich himself.
- Trump is uninformed and inept.
- Trump is a habitual liar. Trump is cruel.
- Trump has 91 felonies hanging over his head.
- Trump is a white nationalist.
- Trump not only welcomes dictators, he acts and talks like a dictator.
- And Donald Trump plans to end American Democracy.
Donald Trump had his chance to govern all Americans, instead he made a mockery of the constitution.
The Case is Clear Donald Trump must not be president.
If Trump wins in 2024, we can say goodbye to all our personal freedoms.
Remember that infamous day in 2016 when America awoke to the news that Donald Trump was our new president? How long did it take for that knot in your own stomach to go away? That day, the United States found itself at a crossroads, not sure how we were going to grapple with this unforeseen turn of events that we would learn would almost immediately change the course of history.
From the beginning, Trump demonstrated a relentless pursuit of power, fueled by a disregard for truth, and an insatiable arrogance that left no room for empathy or humility. He came down that escalator at Trump Tower, went straight to the microphone dehumanizing Mexicans, calling them rapists and criminals, and promised to build a wall to keep “them” out. He also promised a ”complete ban on Muslims coming into our country” which was his first executive order, plummeting airports around the world into chaos. Throughout his presidency, Donald Trump did something odious and heinous every – single – day!
As Trump races toward becomes the presumptive Republican nominee for president in next year’s election, The Economist, in its 38th annual predictive guide to the coming year, labels the twice impeached, the four time indicted ex-president as the “biggest danger to the entire world, not just to our country, if he returns to office in 2024.”
The Economist article goes on to say: “This is a perilous moment for a man like Mr. Trump to be back knocking on the door of the Oval Office. Democracy is in trouble at home. Mr. Trump’s claim to have won the election in 2020 was more than a lie; it was a cynical bet that he could manipulate and intimidate his compatriots, and it has worked! ”
A second term would be a watershed in a way the first was not. Victory would confirm his most destructive instincts about power. His plans might encounter less resistance.
The article further highlights the disdain Trump has for our allies and his admiration for autocrats in authoritarian countries like Russia, North Korea, Cuba, Turkey, Hungary and others.
If Trump were to win in 2024, he would be much less constrained than he was in his first term. There might be no “adults in the room” to help control his worst instincts. He wants to fire thousands of civil servants and replace them with his loyalists, to weaponize the Department of Justice to imprison his perceived enemies, and to implement martial law to enable our military to shoot and kill peaceful protestors.
Donald Trump is an extremely sick, dangerous, and evil man. If he were to win, America could become a dictatorship.
Let’s urge everyone to use their vote to support Trump’s most formidable opponent – President Joseph R. Biden in 2024.
