George Santos was kicked out of Congress, but most Missouri Republicans wanted to keep him

1 min read

Friends,

Last week, members of Congress overwhelmingly voted to expel serial fraud George Santos.

Nearly every Democrat voted to expel Santos, but over half the Republicans voted to keep him in Congress, including 5 of the 6 Republicans from Missouri. Take a look at this headline:

Instead of taking the honorable vote to oust Santos, Missouri Republican Reps. Mark Alford, Eric Burlison, Sam Graves, Blaine Luetkemeyer, and Jason Smith all voted to keep him in Congress to preserve their slim majority. With that vote, they proved they care far more about power than morality. We deserve better.

With Donald Trump promising to end the Affordable Care Act if he’s elected, the contrast between a Republican Party that will do anything to hold onto power and a Democratic Party fighting to protect and expand healthcare access couldn’t be more stark.

That’s why we need all hands on deck to defeat Republicans up and down the ballot. Can we count on you to pitch in?

Thanks,

Matthew Patterson
