Working Together for the Big WIN

We had a lively discussion about the power that comes when people, organizations and candidates all work together on this week’s Friday Power Lunch, Working Together to Win the Majority.

In order to be as effective as possible in pooling volunteers and resources, grassroots groups like Network NOVA are working with Power Packs, collaborative efforts by candidates running for state and local offices in neighboring communities. Friday’s show featured candidates from two different Power Packs talking about how they are pulling together to win back the majority.

Co-Host Finale Norton started the show off by telling a story about teamwork that demonstrated how we are stronger when we work together as a team.

You can watch the recording of the entire show here.

LUISA BOYARSKI (Director, Virginia Grassroots Coalition) delivered her grassroots update with a special focus on early voting and fun early voting events across the state.Early Voting Happy Hours – September 22

Coastal areas of Virginia are key this election but candidates running in districts not considered swing or leaning Democratic lack resources and support. We heard from VICTORIA LUEVANOS (SD20), CAT PORTERFIELD (HD99) and CHARLENA JONES (HD100) who have joined forces to be their own support system in these red-leaning coastal areas. One of the districts to watch this election is Chesterfield County, south of Richmond. We spoke with three members of the Chesterfield Power Pack – NATAN MCKENZIE (SD12), BILAL RAYCHOUNI (HD72), AND TRACI FRANSSEN (School Board) – about how they are collaborating to build a blue wave in Chesterfield. They also announced that they have a joint PAC for Chesterfield candidates: Blue United PAC.

The Virginia team of Red, Wine & Blue – PENNY BLUE (Program Director) and LARA BURY (Deputy Program Director) shared their signature style of troublemaking to connect and organize suburban women throughout the Commonwealth. Their goal is to build relationships, engage in conversations, and have fun.
