WCDP Update: ARPA Funds Allocation in Ypsilanti Township

Condemning Ypsilanti Township ARPA Funding Process

We’re reaching out with news regarding a resolution recently passed by the Washtenaw County Democratic Party Executive Board. Our party’s commitment to transparency and community involvement has led us to address some concerning developments in Ypsilanti Charter Township.

The Issue
Ypsilanti Township, after being allocated over $9 million in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds in 2021, made commitments for community engagement and transparent allocation of these funds. However, recent actions and findings, including issues with the township’s official website, have raised alarms about transparency and community involvement.

Our Resolution
In response to these concerns, the WCDP Executive Board passed a resolution voicing concern over the lack of transparency from the Ypsilanti Township Board of Trustees and emphasizing the need for an immediate review of their ARPA fund allocation strategy. It’s paramount that such funds, meant to support our community during these trying times, be allocated fairly and transparently.

Your Next Steps
We believe in keeping our members informed and proactive. For a detailed understanding of the resolution, we urge you to review the full document available on our website.

Thank you for your continued support and engagement.
