Respect America’s finest who defend our freedom

Those who fight and die to protect American independence deserve better.

“We’re good enough to get into institutions where we might have to die for this country. But we’re not good enough to get into institutions that can train us to save the lives of black and brown families and children.”

Military promotions taken hostage to prevent the Pentagon for troops if they need to travel to seek abortions.
Republicans  reject spending bill  for veterans exposed to ‘burn pits’.
Stealing funds raised for the life-saving surgery of a disabled veteran’s service dog.

Talk is cheap. Follow the actions of those who claim to be for the military but do the opposite with this StoryMap.

Good enough to die but not thrive

The GOP packed Supreme Court banned affirmative action, just not for military academies. Mary Tobin is the daughter of a student who protested to desegregate lunch counters in Nashville, Tennessee. Mary is a West Point graduate, served ten years in the Army and did two tours of Iraq. She sees her service as her own contribution to a longer-term project of making the country a more equitable place. “I grew up with this idea that the wrongs that you see, you must address.”

“We’re good enough to get into institutions where we might have to die for this country. But we’re not good enough to get into institutions that can train us to save the lives of black and brown families and children. It is pretty tough sometimes to live in a country that you love so much you would die for, but it doesn’t love you back. It’s really, really tough to swallow that.” – Rolling Stone

Tuberville Draws Fire For Holding Hundreds Of Military Promotions ‘Hostage’

Tuberville has for months refused to support about 200 promotions for military officers over a Pentagon policy that provides travel reimbursements and leave for service members to seek abortions out-of-state, which was updated after the Supreme Court voted to overturn the landmark Roe v. Wade.. he’s holding out the promotions of hundreds of generals hostage and these are people who are going to be you know, the general in charge of all logistics for the army. … He’s really putting our national security at risk for his personal social agenda.” – HuffPost
