MAGA DEBT CRISIS: How we created a video for free using AI and text prompts

How does AI make videos from text? We took the free version of the Pictory AI app for a test drive. We fed it a few talking points about the MAGA Debt Crisis shared by the Center For American Progress (CAP) Action. It generated this 30 second video (complete with a sound track and captions) in a few minutes. We polished the video it created with the free iMovie app. with the free iMovie app. The whole process took about two hours and used only free software.

Pictory can also convert a URL into a video. We next tried that with a recent article “Follow the money blocking gun safety reforms“.

AI programs analyze the words in the text prompts that it is given. “The MAGA default crisis is the greatest risk to our economy today. MAGA Republicans are trying to enact cruel policies that don’t reflect the values of Americans, at the risk of harming the economy, costing jobs, and hurting the middle class.“

Artificial Intelligence (AI) can analyze words. It performs sentiment analysis to understand the key points in the message. AI then finds relevant video clips to illustrate the text and creates a story using those clips. It even decides how much time to give to each video segment in the story. It then adds captions and chooses a soundtrack from its own catalog of royalty free music. Pictory exports the video it generated for you to refine further if needed, and share freely.

If default lasted for even a few weeks, it could cause a recession that could result in the loss of nearly six million jobs, the unemployment rate could double and it could wipe out $12 trillion in household wealth.”

AI’s ability to analyze the sentiment behind the words that you give it is amazing. It uses that analysis to pick the video clips, soundtrack and prompts to use.
