Democrats of Lancaster County,
Thank you so much for your work on the Democratic Process for this year’s SCDP Convention! I appreciate your time reading about candidates, watching their videos, following their social media, and asking them thoughtful questions. A huge shout-out to everyone who traveled to Columbia and stood to vote for your candidates – our delegation overflowed the space allotted to our county!
The Democrats of South Carolina elected a historic slate of officers, including:
- Christale Spain, our first-ever Black woman as Chair
- Colleen Condon, our first-ever non-binary person as First Vice Chair
- Mayra Rivera-Vazquez, our first-ever Hispanic woman as Second Vice Chair
- Michelle Brandt, our first-ever Miss South Carolina as Third Vice Chair
Congratulations to our new SCDP officers!
Now, it’s time to get to work. Lancaster County has elections in three towns this November: Van Wyck, Heath Springs, and Kershaw. In February of 2024, South Carolina will be the first state in the nation to vote in the Democratic presidential primary. The regular Democratic Primary election is in June of 2024, and the general election is in November of 2024. We need to mobilize now to get every Democratic voter in Lancaster County registered, educated, motivated, and to the polls for each one of these upcoming elections.
Let’s start today, and let’s start with each one of us.
- Check your own voter registration at SCVotes.gov. Don’t stop there – help your friends, family, and neighbors check their voter registrations!
- Connect with other local Democrats! Pick an event and join us: https://www.mobilize.us/lancastercountydemocraticparty/
- Commit to helping! Join a team that fits your skills and interests: LCDP Action Teams.docx
- Invest in our community. Just $5 a month from each of us will make an impact: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/lancaster-county-south-carolina-democratic-party-1
We have a vital opportunity ahead of us. We can make a real difference for South Carolina, but only if we come together. Let’s get to work!
Katie Crosby, Chair of the Lancaster County Democratic Party
