Take Action: Urge St. Petersburg City Council to take a stand for abortion rights and access

Reproductive freedom is an important value for Floridians and a large majority of Floridians support abortion access and want it defended and expanded. They vehemently disagree with the rollback of our reproductive rights.

Amid the continued onslaught against reproductive health care, many cities have recognized both their responsibility and ability to advance reproductive freedom. This includes St. Petersburg with its Reproductive Rights Resolution passed in June of 2020.

This Thursday (March 23), the St. Pete City Council will vote to take more steps toward protecting our reproductive freedom. These proposals include:
1    Declaring a firm commitment to deprioritize the criminal investigation of someone due to a pregnancy outcome.
2    Allocating $50,000 to Tampa Bay Abortion Fund for support services offered to their St. Petersburg clients.

Urge St. Petersburg to advance our rights to make reproductive decisions about our own bodies by declining to investigate and prosecute any pregnancy outcomes and to financially support the Tampa Bay Abortion Fund.

Although the state has a lot of power in determining the legality of abortion, city governments still have a huge role to play in ensuring that their residents can access reproductive health care.

Join us in reaching out to St. Pete City Council!
