This program will focus on the hatred and violence directed toward the Jewish, LGBTQIA and African American communities. Guest speakers include; Noah Arbit, State Representative and Founder of the Michigan Democratic Caucus; Rolanda Kelley, Chair of the LGBTQIA+ Rights Committee; and other community leaders upon confirmation. Education Subcommittee: Monthly Meeting

The OCDP’s Education Subcommittee meets monthly on the fourth Friday at 6pm via Zoom. At this meeting, we will discuss confirming the mission statement and talking about goals and strategies over the next year. Please join us and feel free to invite others! Register at the Mobilize link above.

11th Congressional District Convention

Saturday, January 28th (12pm)

The purpose of this Convention shall be to elect the members to the convention committees and to consider resolutions and platform suggestions to be forwarded to the State Party before the 2023 Spring Convention on February 11, 2023. Please use the link above to register beforehand!

Michigan’s Precinct Delegate Swearing-In

Michigan Democratic Party: 2023 Spring Convention

The Democratic Electors of the State of Michigan are hereby notified that by the direction of the Michigan Democratic State Central Committee, the 2023 Spring State Convention of the Michigan Democratic Party will be held at Huntington Place in Detroit, Michigan on Saturday, February 11, 2023. North Oakland Democratic Club: Monthly Meeting

Join the North Oakland Democratic Club at 313 Pizza Bar in Lake Orion on Wednesday, February 15th. State Representative Brenda Carter of the 53rd District will be joining us to share updates from Lansing.

According to the Oakland County Democratic Party Bylaws, we have several standing committees. If you are interested in getting involved with any of our committees, please sign up here!

Communications | Works to establish strategies and tactics for communicating via social media and with local newspapers.

Political Organizing | Conducts and supports all candidate and organizing activities of OCDP through Precinct Delegate recruitment and allocation, voter registration and outreach, as well as candidate recruitment and screening.

Rules & Bylaws | Serves as an advisory committee on matters pertaining to the rules and bylaws of the OCDP.

Finance | Conducts fundraising activities and periodic reviews of how the budget is operating.

Fundraising

Resolutions | Receives and reviews proposed resolutions for study and recommendation.

Membership | Recruits and retains OCDP members.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion | Ensures the OCDP represents and supports the broadest possible participation without discrimination on the grounds of actual or perceived bias through training programs, supporting activist groups, and identifying ways for the OCDP can improve its representation.

Community Support | Supports all charitable and service activities of the OCDP by areas of need and community service activities that OCDP could promote, donate to, or participate in.

Education Subcommittee

Young Dems | Works to expand participation and involvement of young people in the Democratic Party and the electoral process.

Women’s Rights | Ensures the OCDP represents and supports the broadest possible participation without discrimination on the grounds of actual or perceived bias through training programs, supporting women’s rights groups, and identifying ways the OCDP can improve its representation.

LGBTQIA+ Rights | Ensures the OCDP represents and supports the broadest possible participation without discrimination on the grounds of actual or perceived bias through training programs, supporting LGBTQIA+ groups, and identifying ways the OCDP can improve its representation.

African American | Ensures that more African American candidates are part of the political process in Oakland County, and work towards greater participation from African Americans in the OCDP through training, supporting African American Rights groups, and identifying ways the OCDP can improve its representation.
