Voter Guide, Election Activity Chart and More!

10 mins read

Hi, everyone!

We’ve been heads-down over both our Voter Guide and the Swap Meet Justice Citizenship and Social Justice Fair, so this is going to be one of the shortest notes from us in history!

Indivisible Ventura’s Voting Guide for the 2022 General Election
This was a particularly difficult effort this time, as websites that were frankly horrifying to tread through have metastasized in number, thanks to astroturf backing from the GOP at national, state and local levels.

Please vote, and please vote into all the little pockets and corners you may have felt you could safely ignore. That is no longer true.

This is the perpetual beta-version. If we’ve screwed up, left someone off, or missed some perfectly good information people should know…send it in to

SWAP MEET JUSTICE – Citizenship and Social Justice Fair returns to Oxnard College’s Marketplace on 10/30 (OMG! tomorrow!) from 9:00 am – 3:00!  We are located near the gym.

We will have almost 30 organizations gathering at Swap Meet Justice this Sunday, 9-3, at Oxnard College to aid and empower the community, especially those who have difficulty accessing necessary services due to conflicts with work-day hours, car access, language or cost.

This month, organizations at our fair are offering full application fees for DACA recipients, and there will be on-site consultations with employment, consumer, public defense/expungement and family law lawyers. Our citizenship crew is also waiting – with community volunteers who’ll fill out applications for citizenship, green card and DACA renewals and immigration professionals who’ll answer status questions. There is no cost for either service and you don’t have to be a Ventura County resident to get help, so please share this information to those within driving distance.

Interface will be filling out applications for Medi-CAL, and right across from them, the VC Agency on Aging will help people choose their best Medicare option, critical information for the current open enrollment period. Next to our coloring table for kids, (crayons and coloring books provided) there will be several groups that provide support for parents and families. There will also be people to talk to about housing and homelessness, domestic violence, resources for those with disabilities, utility bill support and child support issues.

A team from the awesome free Westminster Clinic will check blood pressure and blood sugar checked and VC Public Health crew is providing both flu and COVID shots. Get both – save time! You’ll also be able talk to other organizations and agencies offering physical, mental and emotional health care.

Afterwards, check out the great food trucks, fruit and vegetable vendors at the swap meet itself, which will be celebrating both Halloween and the Day of the Dead. Yes – there will be candy! Come visit our social justice village and have a great Sunday!

Check here for the updating list of participating organizations!

Your presence is requested! Come out and fight for our future!

The election is close and candidates are asking for our help. Here’s the UPDATING list of opportunities to reach out to voters, which will be pinned to the top of our facebook page until after the election!

We have a last-minute addition from our Simi Valley friends, who are struggling to get rid of some toxic office holders.

“We desperately need people to walk neighborhoods and drop literature to the remaining houses in Simi Valley. If you are able bodied enough to walk a mile then you can do this!
You can walk at your own pace, on your own schedule.
Download the MiniVan app for your phone in the apple store or android store. Make yourself an action ID with your own email and your own password. I will give you a list number and you will load it into your phone. Houses will appear. You will hang our doorhanger, leave Joe Ayala for mayor flier and possibly Brian Dennert, Sean Weisman, or Kristina Pine or Nancy Mason fliers depending on the territory given. You can pick up the fliers from me or I WILL DELIVER!!!
Please email me back! or call me at (805) 795-7189 and I will talk you through everything! If you can hit 50 houses each then we will be done right away!

Join the Postcare Brigade!!
You Can Make a Difference! Do you want to help Democrats win in the 2022 elections?  You can write Get Out The Vote (GOTV) postcards to help get Democratic voters to the polls!  Studies have shown that receiving a colorful postcard with a short punchy message is the most effective way to persuade a voter to get to the polls.

One of Indivisible Ventura’s members is working with Postcards to Swing States (PSS) to coordinate GOTV postcarding focused on Senate races in swing states.  PSS identifies the campaigns, writes the message, and provides the voter names and addresses. She will provide the cards and, if needed, the stamps.

If you want to participate, please send an email to her at She will add you to her writer roster and email you a description of the campaigns she is currently running. You decide which campaigns you want to join and specify the number of cards you want.  If you live locally, you may collect your supplies from her address in Ventura.  She can also will snail mail your packet to you

Please DONATE to the cause!
Indivisible Ventura is completely volunteer run and your donation will support the direct costs of organizing in Ventura — things like expenses for Swap Meet Justice, posters, art supplies, stamps, transportation, and more! Although we’ve defeated Trump and taken back the Senate, we have to act urgently to save our democracy and enact other desperately needed reforms. Getting it done depends on all of us. Let’s stand together, indivisible. Indivisible Ventura is one of 6,000 grassroots Indivisible groups across the country. Together, we will win. (

The usual caveats…
Keep ahead of us on our calendar scroll here:

• If we screw up a link, our apologies. You can find the original post here:
• We’re putting up information on local protests and actions by others we’re finding from informal sources.
These listings are not endorsements nor guarantees as to time/place/type of protest or participant safety. Events can and have already been cancelled without notice.
• Check ahead for future events there as well. We often miss morning event postings.
• If we screw up or miss information about an event, please send an email to indivisibleventura@ailurophile
