New actions to protect democracy and get out the vote!

Hi Indivisibles,

Early voting has begun in California, Arizona, and Nevada, and mail-in ballots have gone out to voters. Sign up for one of our actions to protect democracy and get out the vote as election day rapidly approaches!

We will train you and offer help and support every step of the way. Scroll down for a list of upcoming actions- there are new opportunities this week and next, including ballot curing (virtually, by phone or text) THIS WEEK for key battleground state Nevada.

FYI: Blue voter guide- a voter resource
Here’s a handy guide that lists which major progressive organizations have endorsed each candidate, proposition, or judge in the upcoming election: It can give a specific list for your voting location, so it’s especially useful for some of the down-ballot races. The guide has information for AZ, CA, FL, GA, NV, NC, PA, TX, and WI, so it’s a great tool to use yourself or pass on to your friends in battleground states.

Spotlight: Nevada

Election protection work needed in Nevada!

An August, 2022, House Oversight Committee investigation uncovered that “coordinated campaigns of election disinformation are disrupting the crucial work of local election officials, subjecting these Americans to violent threats, and overwhelming the limited resources available to provide accurate information to voters and protect the integrity of our democratic system.”

The Nevada Democratic Victory campaign is recruiting poll and count observers. After training, poll observers monitor precincts, report any problems to a centralized “boiler room,” and try to help voters who might be facing difficulties in being allowed to vote. This year, election officials have told the campaign that the right wing harassment was much reduced when Democratic poll observers were present at the primary election, and they appreciate our presence. Count observers will be part of a team watching the election officials conduct the vote count.

Right wing poll observers have already mobilized- and in many poll locations there are no Democratic poll observers yet.

Ballot curing for Nevada (virtual): Let voters know there’s a problem with their ballot and how to fix it

Nevada is critical to success in the midterms! Consider responding to the call for help from Nevada Democratic Victory:

“We know the midterms will be close – so close that just 2 votes per precinct can decide the election. With ballots mailed, and Early Vote starting [last] weekend, there will be ballots that need to be fixed before they can be counted and we need to let voters know when there is a problem with their ballot and how to fix it.

Nevada is THE battleground state in the midterm election. In order to win and protect every Nevadan, we need to reach every voter with a ballot issue and make a plan to resolve it. Can we count on you to sign up to phone and/or text bank with us everyday to ensure that every Democrat’s ballot is counted?”
