Non-partisan Poll Monitors Wanted
Election Protection (866-OUR-VOTE) needs YOU to help make sure every eligible voter can cast their ballot and have it count! Click here to sign up for training to be a Nonpartisan Poll Monitor:
bit.ly/FLEPC-TRAINING Nonpartisan Poll Monitors support voters outside the polls during Early Voting and Election Day. You will be trained to answer voter questions, report issues and connect voters denied the ballot with legal resources. Contact voting@lwvspa.org with any questions.
What do voting rights and Mac & cheese have in common?
They’re both on the menu at the League Of Women Voters Of The Stl Petersburg Areea Voting Presentation event at Enoch Davis community center on Wed, 10/5, 6:30-8:30pm!
We hope you can join LWVSPA, Historic Bethel AME, NCNW and ASALH as we gather to hear about what’s changed and hasn’t in voting and redistricting for the general election. And yes, there will be a buffet catered by Heavy’s Food Truck that you won’t want to miss.

Yom Kippur Social Justice Forum 2022:
Reproductive Rights are Human Rights
Temple Beth-El’s Social Justice Committee presents Yom Kippur Social Justice Forum 2022: Reproductive Rights are Human rights.
Wednesday, October 5 in the APR (All Purpose Room) from 2pm to 3:30pm.
This year’s Social Justice Forum is a reflection on how we are all impacted by access to reproductive health care, albeit in different ways. Let’s explore traditional wisdom on reproductive health and the ongoing work in the political and religious worlds vis-a-vis advocating for just access, all the while knowing that our own stories matter. Your story matters.
Amy Weintraub, our Guest Speaker, is the Reproductive Rights Program Director for Progress Florida and chairs the Reproductive Rights Task Force for Florida NOW. A seasoned organizer, Amy has worked most of her adult life identifying, educating, and activating citizens toward social justice. Amy lives in St. Petersburg with her husband; they have two children in college.
Registration is required as space is limited.
Project Prosper “Friend-Raising” Event
Project Prosper is an organization that provides financial education, mentorship and tools to low-moderate income immigrants and refugees.
This is their annual fundraiser but they also use this event as a “friend-rasier.” This is an opportunity to learn about an organization that is meeting the financial literacy education needs for this at risk population.
