Dear friend,
Hurricane Ian landed on Florida as a powerful storm, just shy of reaching Category 5 strength winds, leaving a trail of devastation throughout our beautiful state. Hundreds are feared dead in Lee County, the hardest hit county, and the loss throughout several counties in Florida is incalculable. It will take years to recover from the destruction. Our neighbors need our help. I have been in contact with our Democratic Committees in the most affected counties, and we will be sending help to assist in the recovery. As we send prayers for the Floridians most impacted on the west side of our state, some of you may also be seeking ways to send help. I wanted to share a list of organizations working in Florida for those of you looking to pitch in:
Here’s a list of organizations working in Florida that need our help:
Support The Red Cross >>
Support World Central Kitchen >>
Support Salvation Army >>
Support Gulf Coast Humane Society >>
If possible, we ask that you do what you can to support the recovery efforts. FDP will make a $1,000 contribution to each of these organizations and I am personally matching those contributions with $1,000 each.
