Deadline Is Here

Our office has been a busy “depot” for distribution and receipt of petitions in support of the Save Our School referendum. And, our volunteers have worked tirelessly since the beginning of July to get signatures on these petitions. Now we need to turn them in!

Our deadline is Tuesday at noon — from our office, these petitions go to Phoenix to be checked before filing with the Secretary of State at the end of the week.

If you have petitions to turn in and need a notary, our office will be open for this purpose on Monday from 8 am – 3 pm and Tuesday from 8 am to noon (the office is open thereafter but the deadline is NOON).

GOTV Is Here

We are at work to get out the vote. Voting begins in just 23 days. We’re working closely with Mission for Arizona to recruit, train, and launch volunteers for door-knocking and phone banking. We were delighted to welcome Gubernatorial Candidate Katie Hobbs to Flagstaff last Sunday for the 9 am canvass launch. A total of 662 doors were knocked last weekend!

Canvassers are carrying our Sample Ballot and soon will have doorhangers produced by us for those doors where no one answers. When ballots are mailed by the County, our target list of over 25,000 Coconino voters will receive our mailing of the Sample Ballot. This literature will also be available at our tabling events through Election Day on November 8.

In addition, tribal precincts in Coconino County will receive a sample ballot produced by Northeast Native Democrats — the coalition of Coconino, Navajo, and Apache counties — two touches for these important voters, who make up over 25% of our county’s Democrats, makes sense! We continue to support NE Native Dems and now have Native organizers throughout our eastern tribal precincts. Our Flagstaff volunteers continue to staff a table in Leupp with assistance from NE Native Dem matriarch recruits. A special thank you to our PC who lived in Havasupai for many years for sending a special cover letter to Havasupai voters.

Another mailing in October is personally addressed and handwritten postcards to 2000 voters who need a nudge to vote in Midterms! Plus, we continue our regular “welcome” cards to newly registered voters – and we’ve got quite a few of those.

Our rural volunteers have events planned this month in Doney ParkGrand Canyon, and Williams. We’re demonstrating that there are Democrats everywhere in Coconino County!

Know someone who wants to volunteer for this critical Midterm Election? Have them fill out this form, or just call our office at 928-214-0393. We’ve got a variety of jobs. But the most important ones are face-to-face conversations with voters!

Spread the Word!

Follow us on Facebook and Twitter!  Our “handle” on both is CoconinoDems. Like and share our posts.

Get to know our candidates and theirs. We’ve got a side-by-side comparison of the candidates on our website. View it here.
