We invite you to bring stamps and wine or beer to share. You can also order your own soft drinks and food to support the Nile.

Urgent: Help Re-elect Rep Underwood!
From Indivisible Chicago Alliance: This year, winning Congressional seats in Illinois is key to holding the House for the next two years. Indivisible Chicago Alliance is working to make sure Lauren Underwood goes back to Congress. And Indivisible Chicago-South Side is part of this vital effort.
In her 4 years in Congress, Rep. Underwood has been an incredibly effective advocate for progressive issues, especially health care. But, after redistricting, Illinois’s 14th District is made up of 70% new territory. Many are Democrats not used to voting in midterm elections.
To win, we need to tell these voters about Lauren Underwood and give them a reason to to go to the polls in November. Below are two ways you can join with others from Indivisible Chicago Alliance to help.
Canvass with the Congresswomen – This Coming Saturday, Aug 20
Meet one Congresswoman and one Congresswoman-to-be in one event! On Saturday, August 20th, we’re going to Joliet to introduce new parts of the 14th district to Lauren Underwood.
Delia Ramirez, Democratic nominee for the 3rd Congressional District, will travel with us to Joliet. And to make the day even more special, Congresswoman Lauren Underwood herself will greet us when we arrive. SIGN UP here
Here are different options for taking part in this daytime effort on Saturday, August 20th:
- 9:30 am: Meet the Indivisible Chicago team at Colectivo Coffee, 2261 N. Milwaukee Ave., in Chicago’s Logan Square neighborhood. From there, you can get a ride out to Joliet to canvass. OR
- 11:00 am: Drive your own car directly to the Joliet site (you will receive the address when you register) OR
- Let us know if you would like to get a ride or give a ride to Joliet from Chicago’s South Side. Indivisible Chicago-South Side will help you arrange this in order to get from the South Side to Joliet by 11:00 am. For this option, let IC-SS know by email.
Whichever option you choose, please be sure to SIGN UP here. Note: Canvassing will finish about 3:00 pm. Indivisible Chicago will provide support and training for both veteran canvassers and newbies.
Phone Voters for Rep Underwood – Tuesday Evenings
You can also help Lauren Underwood win in 2022 by joining the Indivisible Chicago Alliance’s weekly phone banks. We’re dialing for Lauren every Tuesday from 6-8 pm from now until the election.
We’re calling likely Democrats to let them know that Lauren Underwood is on the ballot and encourage them to vote. We need to get our message out and be sure these voters get to the polls in November!
What do you need in order to phonebank from home? A laptop, a phone, and a comfy place to sit. You connect with phonebank leaders on Zoom, where you get all the training and support you need before – and during – the two-hour session. In the last 15 minutes, you get to debrief and share phonebank stories with the other callers.
