Tell Sen. Feinstein and Sen. Padilla: we support the new gun safety bill

A little background:
There’s been some forward motion on a new gun safety bill from Sen. Murphy and we want our Senators to know we support it! The new legislation makes some modest but real advances in gun safety, including slightly stronger background checks for 18-21 year olds, funding for red flag laws, and partially closing the “boyfriend loophole” so that former or current romantic partners convicted of domestic violence cannot possess or buy a gun (Republicans insisted on leaving the loophole partially open so that domestic abusers newly covered by the law would be able to own a gun after 5 years. Despite this, it is an improvement on current law).

Example call script:
Hi, my name is [name]. I’m a voter and a constituent of Senator [Feinstein/Padilla]. My zip code is [zip code].

I’m calling to say I support Sen. Murphy’s gun safety bill. Please keep up the pressure to pass this bill; don’t let it be watered down further and please keep advocating for stronger gun safety measures that do not include adding cops to schools or arming teachers. Thank you.

And as always:
