OCDP: African American Committee Meeting

Thursday, June 9th, 2022 (6pm – 7pm)

Welcome our newly-elected Chairwoman Alexandria J. Hughes at this month’s African American Committee meeting! The committee will reflect on previous OCDP listening sessions and discuss how we can ensure more substantive representation of African Americans in politics, particularly within the OCDP. The African American Committee is working to identify how the OCDP can improve our representation and further participation with African American Rights groups. West Bloomfield Dems Club: Juneteenth

Saturday, June 18th, 2022 (10am – 2pm)

Join West Bloomfield in Commemorating National Freedom Day by volunteering or simply stopping by. A free, fun, family-friendly event. Juneteenth honors the day the final enslaved people were emancipated in June 1865 and celebrates the countless contributions of African Americans to our community & nation. Music, arts, performances, refreshments, vendors and storytelling. Kids area, African Dance, WBHS Jazz Band, and more. Find more information at juneteenthWB.org! Reproductive Freedom for All: Petition & Volunteer
Please support the ballot initiative to codify reproductive freedom by signing or circulating the RFFA petition. To qualify for the November 2022 ballot, Reproductive Freedom for All (RFFA) must collect 425,059 valid signatures BY JULY 11TH from registered Michigan voters. Around 400,000 are still needed — every signature counts. Circulate or sign the petition.

City of Ferndale: Election Inspectors
The city of Ferndale is experiencing a shortage of inspectors for this year’s elections. The City Clerk is seeking to hire Election Inspectors and would appreciate anyone interested in joining their team. To apply or find more information, visit https://ferndale.typeform.com/inspector
