SCROLL DOWN — THERE’S LOTS GOING ON!

North Carolina

Republicans are perilously close to a supermajority. The only thing that has kept the radical wing of their party from implementing their egregious agenda is Governor Roy Cooper’s veto. Dems’ one-seat majority on the State Supreme Court has held back the legislature’s attempts at gerrymandering. Two Dem justices are up for re-election this year: the loss of just one seat will turn the court over to rigidly partisan judges.

Pennsylvania

Sister District Project, a Lean Left partner since 2017, strategically supports state legislative candidates, which has helped to flip legislatures blue and make inroads in others. Thanks to Pennsylvania’s non-partisan redistricting committee the state has a fairer map, which means Democrats have a decent chance at flipping the state legislature blue! You have two opportunities to work with Sister District in PA.

New Hampshire

Volunteer Jennifer McDuffie took the deep canvas training and here’s what happened when she made calls: “I had some good conversations. I asked about people’s concerns, then told them what I knew of Maggie’s positions. I think I even talked two people into being pretty sure they were going to vote for her!”

Wisconsin

Voter intimidation at the polls has risen dramatically in Wisconsin. It is likely to get worse. Help protect the vote in Wisconsin by recruiting poll observers for the August primary election! Poll observers are the eyes and ears of the WisDems at polling locations, and they need your help to recruit them so that voters can safely and easily cast their ballots.

“Our work to defend access to reproductive healthcare has never been more important. Before I became governor, I promised I’d fight to protect access to abortion and reproductive rights. I’ve kept that promise, and I will fight every day as long as I’m governor.”
— Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers

The WI GOP is still contesting the 2020 election. The GOP State Assembly leader has spent nearly $700,000 in taxpayer money on an investigation into supposed election fraud that, not surprisingly, has found no irregularities.  All of the GOP gubernatorial candidates to unseat Gov Tony Evers have signed onto the Big Lie and would show no restraint in overturning election results that they don’t like.

Join Lean Left in supporting Governor Evers’s campaign as well as three Democratic county committees in critical parts of the state. One of these county committees (La Crosse) is also the center of the most, perhaps only, competitive US House race (WI-03) in the state. Dem Ron Kind is retiring.

New Hampshire Power Hour Lunch

On Thursday, June 16 at 12:00, join Lean Left’s New Hampshire Team for the monthly Power Hour Lunch. This is an informal meeting to get to know our fellow activists, brainstorm effective ways we can use our skills and resources in the coming months, and find community in our shared goal of building power and strengthening our democracy. We’ll also share our own experiences and ideas around such topics as how  we can encourage friends and neighbors to join us in this work? What actions make the best use of our time? What is involved in working on a Voter Assistance Hotline? How keep up our spirits? This month we’ll also talk about down-ballot candidates and how we can help them. SIGN UP HERE!
