Fair Maps Still Possible in New Hampshire

The New Hampshire Dems aren’t giving up. The state Senate’s GOP majority rejected a bill that would have prohibited gerrymandered maps under state law. According to the New Hampshire Bulletin, “It would have instructed the Legislature to create compact districts and to consider communities of interest.” A recent University of New Hampshire poll shows the Senate’s actions aren’t real popular: 80% of the respondents reported they believe the maps are unfair. If the maps stay, the GOP and their right-wing cronies may be looking at a big backlash.

New Hampshire

Town Meeting will happen across New Hampshire this week — ballot measures to have voting machines removed making voting more difficult, right-wing candidates running for school board and municipal seats. This will be a test run for November and knowing what voters think is important is vital to winning.

North Carolina

How can we encourage our friends and neighbors to join us in this important work? That will be the topic of this month’s Building Power Lunch Hour with Lean Left’s North Carolina Team, Monday, March 7, 12-1 pm.

Pennsylvania

Remind voters to request mail ballots: In 2020, millions of Pennsylvanians voted by mail. However, they need to sign up every year.

Wisconsin

Wisconsin has four elections in 2022!  There is a great need for voter protection volunteers, particularly to recruit poll observers to make sure that voting is fair.

March Beneficiary

With an open Senate seat, several competitive Congressional races, two state supreme court races, and a Republican legislature heading toward a supermajority, every single vote could make the difference in North Carolina in 2022.

That’s why Lean Left is supporting three grassroots groups that are leading efforts to expand the electoratewin up and down the ballot and build lasting progressive, Democratic power.

You can meet the leaders of these three organizations at Grassroots to Win in North Carolina on Wednesday, April 6, 7-8 pm (your donation serves as your ticket to the event). Grassroots is co-hosted by Lean Left Vermont and activist groups around the country. More information to come. Check out the North Carolina Briefing Sheet for more information about this battleground state.
