Emergency Alert on Voting Rights
Did you hear President Biden’s speech yesterday? He said he was tired of remaining silent and negotiating in back rooms for voting rights. He called out Senators — Republicans and Democrats – who cling to a procedural rule rather than standing up for the right to vote. And, he called on us to put pressure on those Senators to do whatever it takes in terms of filibuster rule changes to pass the important pending voting rights bills.
Today, the Senate remains bogged in procedure but Majority Leader Schumer seems to have a plan. Read about it in these free articles from The New York Times and The Washington Post. The Senate will vote no later than Monday.
