TALLAHASSEE — With Florida’s 2022 legislative session set to begin on January 11th, State Representative Angie Nixon (D-Jacksonville), along with her Democratic colleagues and advocates from throughout the state, will host a virtual rally on Monday, January 10th, at 12:00pm. Together, they will demand that people centered policies be put first this year instead of concerns of the wealthy and powerful corporations.
In addition to Representative Angie Nixon, speakers for the event will include Representative Tracie Davis (D-Jacksonville), Representative Anna Eskamani (D-Orlando), Representative Carlos Guillermo Smith (D-Orlando), Representative Marie Woodson (D-Hollywood), civil rights activist Ben Frazier, and community leaders from a range of organizations advocating for everyday Floridians. They will be addressing issues that the Governor and Republican leadership have refused to address such as access to affordable housing, improving public education, expanding access to health care, and much more.
Other participating organizations at the rally include the Democratic Black Caucus of Florida, the Florida AFL-CIO, Florida Rising, the Democratic Women’s Club of Florida, FLIC Votes, Florida Planned Parenthood PAC, and 1199SEIU.
