Congratulations to Senator Peshlakai!

Senator Jamescita Peshlakai has served our County and the State in the legislature as a Representative and the Senator from Legislative District 7 since 2013. In the 2018 session, she was co-Minority Whip in the Senate. She is a veteran of the Persian Gulf War and a graduate of Northern Arizona University (BA, MA).

Today, Senator Peshlakai announced that she will continue her life of public service in a new role with the United States Department of the Interior. We congratulate her and her family and wish them well.

The Senator’s resignation triggers a statutory process for appointing her successor which involves the LD7 precinct committee members of our County Party. We will provide more information about that soon. Those with questions should contact Chair Ann Heitland at
