GOP Votes to Cut Unemployment Benefits

Republicans are once again kicking Missourians while they are down.

House Republicans voted to cut unemployment benefits to just 12 weeks, the fewest in the country. We already have among the lowest benefits per week, all but 7 states provide 26 weeks. Rep. Peter Meredith (D-St. Louis City) says “As we continue our race to the bottom, it just really feels some days like they just don’t like people, and enjoy kicking them while they’re down.”

Help us fight back against the Republican’s attack on needed benefits for Missourians with a contribution to the MDP.
