Reminder! Today
Let’s Talk Politics with Ray
Special Guest: Chuck Freedman

When: Monday, Mar 1 at 12:00 pm HST
and every other Monday thru 2022

Please join Ray Markey, one of our active members, and the rest of us concerned citizens at Indivisible Hawaii. Join us to talk politics. It’s all about saving our Democracy and the soul of America. We want to hear what you have to say!

This Monday, Chuck Freedman, who graciously hosted us at many meetings in Senator Schatz’s Honolulu office over the past 4 years, will be our special guest.

From Chuck

“You can let people know that though retired I am still a child of the 60’s. Edited my college newspaper in 1967-68 fighting against the Vietnam war and for civil rights. Served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Palau 1968-72, setting up the first bilingual newspaper and developing a fish co-op. In the 70’s worked in community action on the Big Island.  Came to Oahu in 1979 to work for Hawaii’s first female Lieutenant Governor Jean King. Later was on the cabinet of Governor John Waihee for five years as State Communications Director. Worked as a VP for Hawaii Electric Company and most recently on staff to Senator Brian Schatz. In November 0f 1969, Schatz and I set up the Hawaii Draft Obama initiative. In ’08 was elected a national delegate to the Democratic Convention in Denver that nominated Obama for the presidency.

What are the lessons learned?

We also might discuss how all of us are coping during these perilous times and what the groups priorities are.”

Important note for all previously registered participants:
We’ve extended the end date of our sessions to continue thru 2022 (meant to just do it thru 2021, but we’ll probably still all be busy thru 2022, so I left  it.). If your calendar is no longer showing meetings, you can re-register here.

After registering, you’ll receive a confirmation notice which will have your unique zoom link and let you automatically update your calendar to reflect all future meetings thru 2022.
