Important UPDATE on Hawaii’s Democratic Presidential Primary

DO YOU WANT TO VOTE IN THIS YEAR’S DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY?

IMPORTANT UPDATES ON DEADLINES 

  1. WALK-IN VOTING ON APRIL 4 CANCELLED
  2. ENROLLMENT FOR MAIL-IN-BALLOT EXTENDED TO APRIL 4
  3. RECEIPT OF MAI-IN BALLOTS EXTENDED TO MID MAY- THE EXACT DATE WILL BE ANNOUNCED SOON.

YOU CAN STILL REGISTER TO RECEIVE A MAIL-IN BALLOT.  

  • Hawaii’s Democratic Party is operating the Democratic Party’s Presidential Primary using mail-in ballots.
  • Due to the COVID 19 plans for walk-in voting on April 4, 2020 have been cancelled.
  • It is NOT TOO LATE to get a mail-in-ballot.  Another round of mailed-in-ballots has been added which will allow those of you who are Registered to vote in Hawaii and Enrolled with the Hawaii Democratic Party by the April 4, 2020 deadline to receive a mail-in-ballot.
  • Visit alohavote.com to:
    • Register to vote with the State of Hawaii
    • Enroll as a member of the Democratic Party of Hawaii
    • Track your ballot.  Remember to save the outside envelope of your mailed ballot where you will find a 10 digit sequence number to use to track your ballot.
    • Get Information about the election.
    • You can also visit hawaiidemocrats.org 
  • The Hawaii Presidential Primary process includes ranked-choice voting. While most of the candidates have suspended their campaigns, any candidate who receives 15% of the total ballots cast will receive delegates to the national convention.  Voters can choose to vote for only one or two candidates if that is their preference.
  • The new date for RECEIPT of ballots will be mid May with the exact date announced soon. Ballots must be received by the new date to count,  NOT THE DAY THE BALLOT IS POSTMARKED.

Indivisible Hawaii urges everyone who has received a mail-in-ballot or who will be receiving it to cast your vote and mail it back as soon as possible.  

REMEMBER – BY APRIL 4, 2020:  IF YOU HAVE NOT ALREADY DONE SO AND IF YOU WANT TO RECEIVE A BALLOT we urge you to visit alohavote.com to:

  • Register to vote with the State of Hawaii 
  • Enroll as a member of the with the Democratic Party of Hawaii to receive a mail-in-ballot.
  • Vote and mail your ballot so that it will received not later than May 23, 2020.
