MARCH NEWSLETTER

Moving Forward, Together

Canvassing Works!

Studies repeatedly prove that nothing turns out voters like personal contact. When we “knock doors” we generally talk to Democrats who are happy to see us. We work in pairs and we will train you. Here’s what some of the people who canvassed on Saturday, February 22 had to say about the experience:

“Come join us in our next canvass. It was a great day out talking to DEMS. The ones I talked with are mostly informed or they ask for information. A total POSITIVE EXPERIENCE. They are happy to see like-minded folks out and about, helping GET OUT THE VOTE!” – Mary Bell Lunsford

“I had a great time. Met a lot of good people. I am signing up for next week. I saw a quote on Facebook that went something like this: if you wonder what you would have done in Germany in 1939, just look at what you are doing today. I don’t want to look back and have regrets.” – Sharon Bumgarner

Election Night Watch Party

Join us as we gather to watch the Florida Presidential Primary results come in. We’ll also be reporting results from several local non-partisan municipal races where Democrats are running. And, it’s St. Patrick’s Day, so we are hoping for the luck ‘o the Irish!

We’ll be on a covered patio. There are space heaters, but dress for the weather!

What: Primary Election Results Watch Party
When: Tuesday, March 17, 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Where: Strange Colt Brewery, 1103-B E John Sims Pkwy, Niceville

Black History Program

The Okaloosa Democratic Black Caucus is hosting a Black History Program featuring the legendary Civil Rights Leader Rev. H.K. Matthews. Reverend Matthews is 90 years young and has a story to tell! The cost is $10 at the door for a night of history, soul food, and fun. This is a scholarship fundraiser for our youth, in loving memory of Robert Weaver.

What: Black History Program and Scholarship Fundraiser
When: Tuesday, March 24, 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Where: The Gates Building at Bob Hope Village, 92 Sunset Lane, Shalimar
