It is still unclear if the Board will allow the public to speak.
Public Participation Forms (green sheet) are available in the Boardroom on the day of the meeting. Please come with prepared statements.
NOTE: Please get their early because if you are not seated, you cannot make a statement to the Board.

“I wish to voice my opposition to the acceptance of any “2nd Amendment Sanctuary ordinance” brought before the board. America is built on the rule of law and the law of the United States is the Constitution. Federal law is primary. Ignoring the rule of law endangers all citizens of Yavapai County.
Thank you and your attorney(s) for realizing that a 2nd Amendment Ordinance or Resolution is not legal and will not stand in court.

What is a Second Amendment Sanctuary Resolution?
- Second Amendment Sanctuary Resolutionresolutions oppose enforcement of universal gun background checks, high capacity magazine bans, assault weapon bans, red flag laws.
- Passing a resolution declares that restrictive gun control laws, such as red flag law proposed by Gov. Ducey, another legislative body passes are unconstitutional and will not be enforced.
- These resolutions do not carry the force of law. (But laws need somebody to enforce them, and many sheriffs and police officers in counties where Second Amendment sanctuary resolutions have been passed support their communities’ decisions, or at the bare minimum, aren’t willing to stringently enforce the legislatures’ laws.)
- Second Amendment sanctuaries refuse to dedicate resources to enforcing things like “red flag” laws and bans on certain weapons.
