New Polling Shows Majority Of Americans Believe Trump’s Pressure Campaign Was Illegal, Senate Should Remove

With the Senate impeachment trial underway, new polling reveals that a majority of Americans believe the Senate trial should result in Trump’s removal.

Jake Tapper, CNN: “The other thing that struck me was how much of the case Schiff presented was merely running video tape of Trump and his administration officials saying things that are quite damning.”

Jeffrey Toobin, CNN: “I thought it was dazzling. I thought the way [Schiff] wove through both the facts of the case and the historical context was really remarkable…When you consider the volume of information he covered…It’s very persuasive stuff. If people are listening, it’s very hard to imagine that they will think that the Democrats and House Managers are making this up.”

GOP Senators Skip Out On Trial And Fall Asleep

At the start of the Senate impeachment trial yesterday and during today’s opening statements, several Republican senators were seen walking out of the chamber or even falling asleep at their desks.

Senate Republicans—including some that walked out of the chamber during the House Managers’ opening statements—are whining that they “haven’t heard anything new” less than 24 hours after they voted to block the admission of new evidence.
