DemCast USA has joined a broad coalition of grassroots organizations that are planning to motivate the public to hit the streets on the evening prior to the House impeachment vote.

The actions are not being organized by a single group, but by the “Nobody Is Above the Law” coalition – which consists of dozens of pro-democracy grassroots groups and organizations like CREW, Indivisible, DemCast USA, MoveOn, Public Citizen, Stand Up America and more.

The coalition previously organized protests in nearly 1,000 cities to support the protection of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into foreign interference in the 2016 presidential election. Protesters will gather in front of the district offices of House members as the lawmakers finalize their positions and Senate offices as senators prepare for a likely trial, to call on their representatives to uphold the Constitution and their oath of office by supporting Trump’s impeachment.

Activists will coordinate their work using the #NotAboveTheLaw hashtag on social media and via the event hub hosted at impeach.org, where anyone can sign up to host or participate in an event.

This mobilization is part of a much larger grassroots effort to ensure Congress fulfills its duty to make sure the president follows the law, including nationwide actions and town halls during the November congressional recess to help amplify calls for an inquiry and impeachment.

Additionally, tens of thousands of activists are calling Congress each week to ask Republican senators and representatives: “Do you believe that the President should be able to pressure a foreign government to interfere in our elections?”

We now know Trump pushed Ukraine to interfere in our 2020 elections, using U.S. military aid to pressure them to dig up dirt on a political opponent and then engaged in a criminal cover-up. If the average American citizen did this, they’d go to jail. While Congress continues its work on health care, the economy, and other important issues, it also needs to continue these impeachment proceedings, because nobody—especially not Donald Trump—is above the law.

Actions for the “Nobody Is Above the Law” mobilization are already registered in more than 110 cities across the country, such as Columbus, Ohio, Sedona, Ariz., and Atlanta, Ga.

SIGN UP to support this effort.
