Tim Wise is one of the most prominent anti-racist writers and educators in the United States. He recently wrote a viral Twitter thread on how Democratic candidates should approach the 2020 election by focusing on defeating Trumpism and by framing Trump’s racist strategy as an existential threat to the nation. Wise helped defeat neo-Nazi David Duke (twice) and shared the strategy used when Duke ran for Senate (1990) and then for governor (1991) in Louisiana, and he perfectly describes what white privilege is, and he explains how to help people understand the concept. He’s a brilliant and fascinating man. He’s even funny. A must listen show.
