The essential thing left for your to do win the election

This incredibly close election is going to be won by the party that gets the most of its members to vote, and you need to, and can easily help us win. We need you to identify Dem likely voters who have at least a 5% chance of not voting, so we can see them vote. Spend 30 minutes at one of the Distill Social events this week and learn how easy it is to help.

All future drop-in events will be held at the Pittsfield Library branch of the Ann Arbor library, 2359 Oak Valley Drive, unless otherwise noted and are hosted by Distill Social. Bring your computer or pad to get the most from the training.

Letitia James: Fighter for Justice

Letitia James, New York’s firebrand Attorney General, is known for her successful litigation of the civil case against Donald Trump’ business empire, demonstrating its “corporate malfeasance” and winning a settlement against its officers of $450 million dollars.

On Saturday, she addressed a group of progressive Ann Arborites about the critical forthcoming presidential election. She rallied support for Vice-President Kamala Harris, the presidential candidate who doesn’t foment division, hatred, and chaos, and who supports the rule of the law and the constitution. “We’re not going back,” she said of Trump, the former president who separated immigrant parents from their children, who maligns legal Haitian immigrants, who wants to end DACA and Headstart, the preschool program for low-income children. She urged her audience to get involved in what is undoubtedly the most important election of our lifetime.

James explained how serving as attorney general is her “raison d’etre.” Citing her childhood, one of eight children on occasional public assistance, she cites Luke 12:28. “To whom much is given, much will be required.” Clearly, she has given much to the people of New York and now Michigan.
