Fight for Our Future – Not Going Back: August 25

Now is the time to sign-up for shifts on our new phone banks, plan a trip to Modesto to register voters or to canvas in Reno or the Central Valley. But don’t forget to sign-up for the Yolo-wide Election Rally. “Yes We Kam!”

On Sunday, August 25 at 4PM, Indivisible Yolo and Sister District Yolo are hosting a Yolo-wide Election Kickoff along with our Democrat partners, Yolo Dems, West Sac Dems and Davis College Dems.

The rally will be held at Veterans Memorial Center, 203 East 14th St in Davis. Featured speakers include Michael Tubbs, former Mayor of Stockton and candidate for California Lt. Governor in 2026. He is perhaps best known for his work championing a guaranteed income and his book, The Deeper the Roots. Sharing the stage with Michael and local leaders is Jasmine Clark, running for re-election in GA-108. We’ll also hear from Indivisible Yolo’s Steve Murphy, Sister District Yolo’s Kelly Wilkerson, and Antonio DeLoera-Brust, Executive Director, Yolo County Democrats. The real rally will be at the tables, where attendees can learn more and join any of our Action Teams for canvassing, voter registration, phone banking,  texting, post carding, fundraising and voter protection. Come for the community, stay for the motivation- and then act!

If you already know where you’d like to help please complete the Volunteer Form on our website and we’ll get you plugged in.

College Campus voter registration drives

Join Indivisible Yolo and the Bay Area Coalition in Central Valley college campus voter registration drives!

The Grassroots Collaboration Project lists voter registration as the single activity generating the most Democratic votes per hour of volunteer time. Our success in flipping the House of Representatives depends on a few battleground districts including our target district CA-13 where we will be visiting campuses to register students to vote. Registering Democrats is key to winning CA-13, and we are limited only by the number of volunteers who show up to register students to vote, and the volunteers who step up to lead an event. Campus voter registration drives are fun events with a group of like-minded people.

All information you need to lead a drive can be found here: Voter Registration, in a box!

Use this form to sign up to lead a drive: Campus Voter R_SignUp.

“Sí, se puede” – Central Valley Matters Fundraiser September 5

On September 5 at 5:30 PDT, Central Valley Matters will have the last fundraiser before the November election. Join us for this online event featuring Dolores Huerta, who will inspire and guide us as we raise $100,000 to fuel the funding gap for CVM’s excellent grassroots organizations. These organizations support civic education and engagement in CD 22, one of the 6 districts that Indivisible Yolo, along with many other progressive organizations, is working to flip blue.

Tell our Members of Congress: Ceasefire now! Withhold arms to Israel

Indivisible has joined the global community in expressing our horror and grief at the loss of over 1,400 Israelis, Americans, and foreign citizens in Hamas’ horrific attacks on October 7, and echoed calls for all hostages to be released immediately.

Since then, the humanitarian situation in Gaza has deteriorated catastrophically with Israel’s ongoing bombardment and blockade of life-sustaining supplies like water, food, medicine, and power. The death toll continues to rise by the hour, including thousands of Palestinian children.

The bombing has to stop.

Earlier this year, President Biden announced a ceasefire framework that could bring a stop to the hostilities and return all hostages to their families. But time after time, Prime Minister Netanyahu has undermined efforts to finalize the ceasefire deal, including in his address before Congress. Meanwhile, the families of hostages are protesting him for refusing to prioritize bringing their loved ones home.

Enough is enough.

No more US weapons for Netanyahu’s war. The US must use every ounce of leverage, including withholding offensive military assistance, to finalize the ceasefire deal that’s on the table and stop the killing.

Example call/email script (your own words are best!)

I am a constituent and I am writing today to ask you to call for the US to stop sending offensive weapons to the Israeli military, and to finalize President Biden’s ceasefire deal.

The death toll of this war is heartbreaking and hostages remain separated from their families. Any humanitarian solution to this crisis starts with stopping the bombs and the killing. You can’t allow American weapons and supplies to be used for more escalations.

I urge you to call for US offensive weapons to be withheld from the Israeli military, and to push for a desperately needed ceasefire.
